We Are …
The Honor Guard
We consider the Honor Guard to be an elite organization, elite
because of hard work and training; elite because our efforts
are manifested in the belief that our purpose is a high
calling of respect and honor for The United States of
America. We will not call ourselves elite, others
will. There will be those who consider us worthy of the
title Color Guardsman because of the evident pride we
exhibit in ourselves, the USCG Auxiliary, the National
Ensign, and the respect we have for those who witness our
efforts, and for whom, we are a tangible outlet for their
pride of Flag and Country. Most importantly, we will
be considered worthy of the title of Honor Guardsmen because our
preparation, pride, respect and military bearing will be evident
and appreciated by the family and friends who are left behind,
because one of their own, and our own, has “crossed the bar”.
